held in the Nunicipal Buildi~ of the Village of Chubbuck. on Ju_ly 9, 1957.
Present- Fenwick, Frasure, aard~ ~alenty, Hillman and Caldwell.
Meeting called t° order 8;10
Minutes of she last regular meeting and also of the adjourned meeting then read
and approved as read.
Bills for the month then presented for approvel of payment. Motion to approve
p~y~ent made by Frasure, seconded by Hillman. All in favor. Bills as follows:
First Security Bank- h,220.00, Stamps- 16.OO, Idaho Power-96.70 &65.08, Pocatello
Police-5.00,County CommisszoneSs-156.O0, Intermountain Publishers-12.0h, Phone-13.15,
Guaranty Insurance-l~.O0, Continental 0il-31.O7, Sinclairv26.22&37.Od, R. Hall-27.27.
Financial and Police iepo~ts for month then presented to Board.
Old Business- Hayfield Airport. Caldwell-a declaratory judgement is the best method
to settle this case. An~ citizen of the VZ~lage can bring it to trial. Valenty ist.
represent the city. All Board members are in favor of getting it settled. Approximate
cost to be 125.OO.
Hurley and Lou L~ne dsitricts- Village still has time to appeal aecision t® the
Supreme Court. N~.ll~, Fenwick and Frasure in favor of appeal. Valenty & '~ar~l, not in
favor of appeal. To be discussed at next meeting.
Lights at Hawthorne & Quinn - Are installed and h~ve been in use for a month.
Ne accidents reported since lights were installed.
Water Bond Election - Valenty , call an election and see ii' we can get a well in by
winter, talk to Jim Stuart and see if he will pledge the propertry, then have Engineer
make an estimate on cost for well and hook-up with existing lines.
New Business - Cliff Ball asked for requirements for building a h~me in Chubbud~.
Valenty, we have no zoning ordinance. Hensley will instruct him on water hook-up.
Starlite Theatre- wants permission to displa~ fireworks on July 19, and he will
take full responsibility. Board approved request and gave Chairman Valenty authority
to grant per~ssion provided the Theatre takes full responsibility.
Subscription salesmen - Permission will be granted to solicit subscriptions in the
Village if they contact the Village Board first.
Fire Fighters- Hensley has been having fire drills and asked if Badges could be
provided for deserving members. The Badge would give the be~r authority at a fire
if the Chief is not there. Badges would only be issued to qualified fire fighters.
Board approved purchase of 12 Badges to be inscribed 'Chub~ucm Volunteer Fireman'.
Ordinance # 5- IAquor by the Drink - Caldwell, if section 7 does not conform
with State ~w then the Ordinance will have to be redrawn. Correction by a~ndment
must be made on the license fee charged by Village for Liqour License.
Livestock Water Charges - Motion made by ~ard, seconded by Hillman, and all in
favor to drop charges for livestock during summer months when water is in the canals.
This would be for 5 months, namely, June,July, August, September and October.
~atering pasture and Garden with Village Water - Frasure, some people are watering
their pasture and gardens with Vil_age ~ater instead of using canal water. Board
~ecided to put meters in for these residents if such practices continue.
