held in the ~unicipal Building of the Village of Chubbuck on June ll, 1957
Present- Ward, Fenwick, Frasure, Valenty, Hillman & Caldwell.
~eeting called to order 8:10 P.~.
~inutes of the previous meeting then read and approved as read.
Bills for the month presented to Board for approval of payment. ~otion to approve
payment made by ~-ard, seconded by Frasure. All in favor. Bills as follows:
Intermountain Publishers-21.76, Pocatello Police-aS.00, Phone-14.20, Idaho Power-55.36

Financial Report and Police aepo~ for past month presented to Board. '
Old Business- ~ater Tester, Village ne~ds volunteer to collect samples of Village water
from two taps at different parts of Village and send samples to Bannock County Health
Unit each month. Hillman volunteered for duty. Hensley will assist on first rounds.
Ballot Box- Caldwell, Is to remain locked for 8 months after election.
Police Judge- Report is in and he is available now. Clerk is in possession of a
regulation bond record presented by Police Judge. Fenwick,Does Judge show up on time
now. Hensley, yes.
U.P.R.R. Court Case- Caldwell read decision of Judge Carver whereby it was stated that
tracts 2 and 3 are out of Village but the rea~ of tracts are in Village. Village has 90
days to appeal decision.
Hayfield Airport Residents- Valenty, explained proposed Ordinance # 8 to Caldwell and
also read previous minutes pertaining to said Ordinance. If the Village refunds the Tax
money from Hayl'iel~ Airport Residents the Ccunty Clerk wants a certified letter from
Village Board instructing them to take Hayfield Airport off the Village Tax Roll. The
total tax for 1956 was 148.68 and Village portion would be 37,85. Caldwell, the burden of
proof of Village status would be on Residents of Hayfield. A declaratory judgement from
the courts would settle the case and the Board instructed Caldwell to ask for it.
~ater applications- H. Magleby, Jack George and L. Nard have not replied to two requests
for application. Hensley is to inquire about these applications.
Bell Trailer Court-asked for 5 more connections. Board grantd this request ms of June 15.
Delinquent qater report presented to BoarR. Accounts were in pretty good condition.
Budget- Estimate of Income & Expenses has been published. Now the Board will
Ordinance to a~ept the Budget.
New Business- Letter from office of prosecuting attorney Hugh Maguire on Opinion NO-a-5?
from Attorney General's Office concerning persons not qualifier to be licensed for the
retail sale of liquor by the drink, read in full by Valenty. Letter is on file.
Letter from Hiway Dept. on proposed construction of an Interstate Freeway in vicinity of
Chubbuck, read by Valenty. Letter is on fi~e.
Letter from Lincoln Ure on ~ater program read by Valenty. Letter is on file.
~ater Program- Valenty, we should not drop this election idea now. All Board members are
in favor of the Bond election. How much shoed we ask for. Fenwick, not just minimum,
we can extend lines if we have any left. Caldwell, must estimate cost. Bond is made en
actual cost and not on estimate. Bond figure may be lower than estimate but not higher.
~ard, if we can't drill a well, lets hook-up with Pocatelle. Valenty is to contact
Hamilton and get new estimates.
Hensley- presented a check to Board to see if Caldwell can collect it. Check was used to
pay a fine and maker had payment stoppe~. Check is on a Salt Lake City Bank. Caldwell

Meeting recessed at 10:30 P.M. to 6:P.M. Friday, June 14, 195'7 for purpose of acting
on Ordinance adopting the Estimator Budget for the coming fiscal year.
