It contains an incredible amount of relevant and much needed goals and policies even 20 years after it was adopted. At that time, the City population was 9,763 (2000 Census). The US Census Bureau's most recent estimate of the City population was 15,900 in 2023, an increase of 63% since 2000. In response the City has prepared to draft a major plan update, when funding was available, that would reaffirm and establish new goals, objectives, strategies, and policies into the year 2045. In 2023 the City budget included funds for updating the plan, and the City was awarded a grant from the Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health to support including Social Determinants of Health in the planning process. Anumber of these are addressed in the draft plan.
