• No place to hang rain gear/boots.
• Out of storage space inside shop area.
• Using space to weld commercial and residential containers to
save money — stinks up rest of building.
• Need space to store weather sensitive materials and
equipment.
• Converted old bay to sign shop — has no heater.
Yard Office Space Request
Maintenance/Parks
Nearly all shop, and related support areas are undersized and/or simply lack a number of building components
that are common in these types of facilities. Most importantly there is a significant lack of conditioned and non -
co nd itioned
on-
conditioned building space and covered for parking and storage of high-value fleet, apparatus, and equipment.
City Shops General: The facility lacks a public reception area, and has insufficient employee support areas,
including but not limited to, lockers/showers/decontamination facilities, lunch break areas, and in-
sufficient office space (workstations, file storage, and office equipment) for management and supervisors.
Currently, each department has their own small insufficient facilities, which results in a lack of economies
of scale. A drive through wash rack and covered double -loaded fueling island is needed.
* Fleet: Given the existing number of mechanics, fleet could get much better utilization of staff if it had
additional bags. The general industry standard is to provide two bags per mechanic. Currently{, the or-
ganization is short two bags, and given the projections of mechanics over the long term, and additional
bars will be needed. There are no dedicated secure tool storage, tine storage/changing areas, central
fluids storage and d ispensa ry facilities.
Operations staff needs work benches for parts assembly, a n area for cleaning of parts and equipment,
storage for a lame varied assortment of tools, equipment, and parts, and spaces for storage of specialized
vehicles.
• Streets: Lacks a heated sign room and adequate sign storage space.

CPD Drug Investigations -
Quick History
• Taking drugs off the streets
• traffic stops & calls -for -service
• (reactive approach)
• Dedicated a detective to:
• The BADGES (Bannock Area Drug Group Enforcement Squad) Task Force
• A collaboration of federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies that focuses primarily on
drug trafficking crimes in Bannock County and throughout the region.
• (proactive approach — attached to learning how to conduct drug investigations)
• High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HID TA)
• Participation in a multi -disciplinary HID TA is accomplished by dedicating at least one full-time staff
member
• What's in it for us?
• By continuing to participating in BADGE's we have more resources available to us to manage drug
investigations within our city
• Similar to the Southeast Idaho Special Tactics and Response (STAR) team
Oregon.-Idedio HfD 1A Region
CPD K-9 Program - Next Step in
Drug Interdiction
• Continue building a more profession and self-sufficient Law
Enforcement Agency
• We need to resist the urge to take the easy path of relying on our
