RESOLUTION NO. 1-91
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO,
AMENDING THE RATES TO BE CHARGED BY THE CITY FOR SEWAGE DISPOSAL
THROUGH THE MUNICIPAL SEWER SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Section 13.04.020 of the Chubbuck municipal Code
provides that the rate for connection to and for sewage disposal through
the municipal sewer system shall be set by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council of the
City of Chubbuck that the rates charged for connection to and sewage
disposal through the municipal sewer system shall be as follows:
A. Plant Cqpacit¥ Fees: The following plant capacity fees
shall be imposed for the land uses and time periods set forth
hereinafter:
Land Use Amount
Single family dwellings and mobile $230.00 for each
home on permanent foundation, etc. living unit or mobile home
space
Living units other than single family, $230.00 initial
including mobile home courts connection plus
duplexes, apartments, trailer parks, etc. $150.00 per additional
unit of space over one
Motels and hotels $230.00 per connection plus
$14.00 to be added for each
additional unit
Commercial or Industrial buildings Fee dependent upon type of
customer. Use reproduction
unit capacity cost of $.86
per gallon per day based
on average usage. City
Council may negotiate rates
for any industrial or
commercial user anticipated
to discharge greater than
1/2% of Treatment Plant
capacity.
B. At the time of application for sewer service or of application
for restoration of terminated sewer service, the owner or occupant of
any lot, property, building or residence who will receive sewer service
from the City, but who does not subscribe and pay for water furnished
by the municipal water system, shall deposit with the City Clerk three
times the applicable monthly service charge, or $50.00, whichever is
greater, for each lot, property, building or residence connected to the
sewer system, in order to guaranty the payment of monthly sewer system
charges. All deposits shall be held in a fund known as the "Sewer
Service Deposit Fund" and shall be retained in said fund until the owner
or occupant shall have discontinued the ownership or occupancy so such
a lot, property, building or residence. The deposit shall not bear
interest payable to the depositor while being held in the "Sewer Service
Deposit Fund", and shall be subject to disbursement in accordance with
the procedures set forth in Municipal Code 13.04.020 in the event of the
owner's or occupant's failure to pay, in a timely fashion, the monthly
sewer service charge.
C. Monthly Service Charqes: The monthly charges for sewer service
inside the city shall be as follows:
Minimum Charge: $10.50
per equivalent single family dwelling as
reasonably determined by the Public Works
Director. No minimum charge shall be less
than one (1) single family equivalent.
Volumetric Charge, per 1000 gallons: $ 0.85
Total sewer volumetric charge may be computed from
average winter metered water usage.
