HomeMy WebLinkAbout1997-001 Election School Improvement RESOLUTION NO. 1-97 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK A MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF IDAHO; EXPRESSING SUPPORT OF SCHOOL DISTRICT #25'S SCHOOL IMPROVEMENT ELECTION MARCH 4, 1997; URGING THE CITIZENS OF CHUBBUCK TO BECOME INFORMED AND PARTICIPATING THE SUPPLEMENTAL LEVY AND THE SCHOOL CONSTRUCTION BOND. WHEREAS, as March 4, 1997, School District #25 will be holding a School Improvement Election; and WHEREAS, the City Council believes that it is important for the Chubbuck area educational system to keep pace with the growing needs of the community; and WHEREAS, the Chubbuck City Council believes that it is necessary to repair and remodel both high schools in order to improve these educational facilities sufficiently and to construct another high school so that no facility is crowded beyond its capacity; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City Council hereby declares that the education of the youth of the City of Chubbuck is of great importance to the future and the welfare of the entire citizenry of the City of Chubbuck; 2. That the City Council therefore hereby encourage the residents of the City of Chubbuck to become informed and to participate in the operational and maintenance's expenses, to construct a new high school, and to make repairs to Pocatello High School. 3. That the City Council hereby urges the citizens of the City of Chubbuck to vote in the March 4, 1997 School Bond Election. RESOLVED this 11th Day of February, 1997.
