The sight clearance area/triangle in city code was measured 40' back from the intersect of both curb lines. The new standard for the clearance zone begins 15' from curb to a distance established by formula. The new triangle for sight clearance is narrower but longer, providing for safer traffic movement. . _. .......... ...... . ...... .., Clearance zone Length of sight clearanr-e zonevarie5— ... ,. ...... depending on speed and width of cross street. To simplify the standard for temporary signs the proposal limits all signs over 3' tall be at least 15' from the curb.
