CALL TO ORDER: Mayor England.
PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG: Councilmember Heiner
COUNCIL PRESENT: Roger Hernandez Norman Reece, Dan Heiner, and Melanie Evans.
STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Kevin England, City Attorney Ryan Lewis, Fire Chief Merlin
Miller, Interim Public Works Director Bridger Morrison, Community Services Director Devin
Hillam, Police Chief Nick Sasser, Human Resource Director Scott Gummersall, City Treasurer
Rich Morgan, and City Clerk Joey Bowers.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES: June 21, 2023.
Councilmember Reece motioned for approval of the Council Meeting minutes.
Councilmember Heiner seconded motion for approval of minutes.
Roll Call: Hernandez -yes, Reece -yes, Heiner -yes, Evans -yes, motion passed.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
1. The Swearing in of Nick Sasser as Chief of Police.
Mayor Kevin -England administered the oath of office to appointed Chief of Police
Nick Sasser.
2. Adopt Tentative Budget for Fiscal Year 2024.
(Council will discuss the adoption of a tentative budget for 2024).
City Treasurer Rich Morgan reviewed the budget schedule that started in February;
which included presentations and discussions on: policies/goals, estimated general fund
revenue and human resource expenses, budget presentations by departments, special
meetings, and incorporated feedback from the Council. Mr. Morgan also presented a
tentative budget to the Council and reminded the Council of the process for adopting the
budget.
Councilmember Heiner motioned for approval of the preliminary tentative budget.
Councilmember Hernandez seconded motion for approval.
Roll Call: Reece -yes, Heiner -yes, Evans -yes, Hernandez -yes, motion passed.
CLAIMS:
City of Chubbuck claims for July 5, 2023 as presented to Mayor England and
Council.
Councilmember Hernandez motioned to approve the City of Chubbuck Claims as presented.
Councilmember Heiner seconded motion for approval.
Roll Call: Heiner -yes, Evans -yes, Hernandez -yes, Reece -yes, motion passed.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS: Movies in the Park starts July 14, 2023.
ADJOURN: Mayor Kevin England adjourned at 6:11.
