PROCLAMATION
SENIOR NUTRITION PROGRAM
CELEBRATE • INNOVATE • EDUCATE
Whereas, since 1972, the National Senior Nutrition Program has assisted funding local
agencies congregate meals that help to ensure older adults have opportunities to stay
healthy, independent, and connected; and
Whereas, more than 10 million older Americans face hunger each year; and
Whereas, local senior nutrition programs help older adults access healthy foods; nutrition
screening, education, and counseling; social opportunities; and other supports that
encourage well-being; and
Whereas, the Senior Activity Center, Nutrition Program is an integral part of Chubbuck—
providing sustenance and so much more to our older community members, especially those
most vulnerable; and
Whereas, Senior Nutrition Program is having a positive impact on our community and its
older adults by serving a nutritious meal four days a week at the Senior Activity Center;
Now, therefore, I, Kevin B. England, as Mayor of the City of Chubbuck, do hereby
proclaim March 2023 to be
National Senior Nutrition Program Month
and I urge every resident to recognize older adults and the people who support them
through nutrition services as essential contributors to the strength of our community.
