CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO
RESOLUTION NO.
2 -2006
WHEREAS, Idaho has implemented a contractor registration law in Title 54, Chapter 52,
Idaho Code, which is effective January 1, 2006;
WHEREAS, Idaho Code 54-5209(1) mandates that no building inspector charged with
issuing building permits shall issue any permit without requesting the presentment of an Idaho
contractor's registration number;
WHEREAS, the Chubbuck Building Official has advised that contractors doing business
in Chubbuck have been slow in getting their registrations processed;
WHEREAS, the City wants to assure compliance with the law for the protection of the
contractors who are denied the ability to file liens if they are unregistered and a customer refuses
to pay them and customers who are provided the protections afforded by the contractor
registration law;
WHEREAS, the City Building Official has been making inquiry of contractors applying
for building permits and providing them with the information on how to obtain registration if
they are not registered and has been advising them that the City will require those registration
numbers in the future or deny permits:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Chubbuck as follows:
1. Effective March I, 2006, no unregistered contractor shall be issued a building
permit unless they show that they have a pending application or they show that they are exempt
from registration.
