The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District would like to purchase the building located at 4200
Hawthorne Road and convert it to a high school Career Technical Education (CTE) Center and
administrative offices. Currently, there are 5 classroom sized rooms available for use. This
project would divide the large open spaces in to several more classrooms, offices, and meeting

would also allow for some expansion into different career/technical areas as the District expands
its CTE offerings. As stated later in this document, the building was built to house upwards of
600 employees. This center would accommodate approximately 250 people at any one time.

2. How is the proposed use in conformance with the goals, objectives, and policies of the adopted

School District #25 will bring approximately 250 students and staff at varying times through -out the
day to study and learn inside this building. This will help direct economic growth to this portion of
Chubbuck.
3. How is the use compatible with other existing or permitted uses in the general vicinity? Have changes been
made to the proposal to enhance compatibility?
Gem Prep school Is located within 300' of this building but has its own dedicated parking. Home
Depot is located directly north of this site, again it has its own dedicated parking. Home Depot has

would hopefully strengthen this partnership. The location of this building will allow other
partnerships with Chubbuck employers.
4. How is the proposed use harmonious in scale, mass, coverage, density, and intensity with all adjacent
