Chubbuck, held in the Municipal Building of the Village~f Chubbuck on September
8, 196A.
Present- Worsencroft, Hillman, Christensen and McDevitt.
Absent- ¥,fard and Underwood, excused, out of town.
Called to Order 8:05 P.M.
Minutes of the Last Regular and one recessed meeting then read and approved.
Bills for the month presented to Board. Motion to approve payment made by
Christensen, seconded by Hillman. Two bi]Is were not approved until they are
they are checked by Worsencroft for accuracy. They are from Ballif & Associates.
Financial and Police reports for month presented to Board.
Park Lawn- has not been planted yet and the Board decided they had better
wait till next spring because the eeather has not been favorable for fall planting.
However, they ground will be fertilized this fall. k~cDevitt stated that Hillman
should '0e complimented for the improvements at the Park.
Stop Sign at Railroad_ crossing on East Chubbuck Road...a_mstensen~ ~' is to get
the reflector tape and apply it to the word STOP on the sign, as Underwood is
out of town, and would not get' to it for awhile.
Esling Water Account- Letter from Esling asking to make pa~nents on his
hook-up was read to Board. Decision was for him to make a $25.00 down payment,
and $15.00 per mom. th plus his water & sanitation bill. He had promised $25.00
per ~nomth but said he could not quite make it that much every month.
George Lessert-i(ew man hired to work in the Village was then introduced to
those present at the meeting. Hillman explained that he is hired to help in the
Village where ever he is needed and also to help with the Police ~/,~'ork. His
salary is to be $400.00 per month.
Sanitation Ordinance- F~.D.Vesser was present and protested the Sanitation
Charge on his water bill. Board explained that they cannot change Ordinance
and no exceptions can be made. The Ordinance is for the good of all the Village.
John Valenty- asked if the Village had given anymore thought to the purchase
of approximately 19 acres just west of the -Railroad Tracks between Chubbuck Road
a~d Hiway Ave. After discussion, the decision was to study the matter and see if
the property would useful for a Lagoon Type Sewer System~ or anyother use to the
Vil].age before any action could be taken.
Petition from residents asking for Clubs to open on Sunday presented to Board
by Lena Hageman. 250 residents names were on the petitions. Hillard Jones stated
there are more petitions and he was s,mre 5¢~ more ~eople would sigm it. A long
discussion followed. First sug%estion for the petition was made by other businesses,
and not the Bar Owner's. Worsencroft said they would give it consideration,
McDevitt stated that the Ordinance could be repealed by the Board at any time
they so desired, and he also complimented the Bar Owners present for the work,
and presentation of the Petition. Bar Owners requested that they be allowed to
keep the original copy of the petitions. Board =rsnt~..~ their wish and asked that
the Clerk be allowed to produce copies of the Petition for each Board Member.
Clerk will reproduce these from the Original and then return the Original to
the Bar Owners.
