We have just experienced a season of giving and boy how many have given o and so much has been given. It is such a blessing to live in this area where so many are so generous. ° We are now headed into the heart of the winter months. These can produce some difficult living ° conditions with snowy and cold weather and the challenges that this brings. May I make a couple of ° ° suggestions for each one of us? First, let us be very aware of our neighbors and the elderly that live around ° us. Perhaps they could use a visit from us to brighten up their day, especially with our long winter nights. ° In those visits we could check to make sure that they have the things that they need. Shoveling of walks ° and driveways and maybe a quick trip to the store for groceries and other needed supplies could relieve a ° burden and lift their spirits. Life is made up of segments of time and the giving of one's time is wonderful ° and a way to give of oneself. Second, things become slippery with snowy weather. Be extra careful and ° avoid taking a fall that can produce injury. When making a trip in our cars we should give ourselves extra ° time so as to not be in a hurry. Most accidents in slick weather are caused by speed and could be avoided by slowing down. ° Last thought, we have lots of local businesses that need our support. Please let's do all that we can to keep ° our dollars local. Money spent with our locally owned businesses, generally speaking, stay local and keep ° 0 our local economy healthy. Keep smiling and know that you are very much appreciated. o ° With warm regards, ° ° ° ° Mayor Kevin England ° 000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 January 2022 Important Dates to Remember *Dec.30 (early) & Dec. 31 -City Office Closed Jan. 1 -Utility Bill Due Jan.5 City Council Work Study/4PM Jan 5 -City Council Meeting/6PM Jan. 11-LUDC Meeting/7PM Jan. 16 -Utility Bill Past Due *Jan.17-City Office Closed Jan. 18 -CDA Meeting/5:30PM Jan. 19 -City Council Meeting/6PM REMINDER! Registration for Chubbuck Boys Baseball, Girls Fast Pitch Softball, and Backyard Baseball will be conducted online. I For Registration and Tryout Dates, please visit our I website at www.chubbuckreclea"es.com --------------------------J Message from Chubbuck Police: Snow Removal Policy Just a reminder about parking and snow removal! Please be courteous by removing snow and ice from walkways, sidewalks and parking lots under your care. City Code ( 08-28-030) requires owners or renters of properties to provide "all weather passage" to pedestrians, which means you must shovel your snow. You can be cited for not shoveling your snow! We ask that those who plow, shovel or blow snow into city streets, please do not. Please place your snow on your property and not on the city street . Winter parking is a problem when those who park on the streets (legally and illegally) are in the way of snow removal equipment. Please park all vehicles off the street if at all possible during winter to facilitate snow removal. If a snow emergency is declared by the mayor, failure to remove vehicles from the street may result in the vehicle being towed to an alternate location and paying a tow bill. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Chubbuck Police Code Enforcement at 237-7172.
