WHEREAS, citizens of the City of Chubbuck are entitled to
a municipal government which is economically operated and responsive
to their particular needs; and
, WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the City of Chubbuck
have found that membership in the Southeast Idaho Council of Govern-
ments (SICOG), since September, 1972, has required an allocation of
public officials' time disproportionate to any benefits derived by
Chubbuck citizens; and
~ERF_.~S, the Mayor and Council of the City of Chubbuck
have not found membership in the Southeast Idaho Council of Govern-
ments (SICOG) to be a prerequisite to full participation by the
city in federal grants and other forms of assistance to municipali-
ties;
THEREFOP~, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of the
City of Chubbuck, Idaho, that the city's affiliation with the
Southeast Idaho Council of Government (SICOG) shall be, and is
hereby terminated. This resolution supersedes the language of prior
Resolution N~mber 9-72. In adopting this resolution, the Mayor and
Council do not imply that membership in the Southeast Idaho Council
of Governments (SICO~) is inappropriate for other municipalities
in different cir~mstanoes. Rather, this resolution focuses
exclusively on the costs and benefits to citizens of the City of
Chubbuck.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL of the City
of Chubbuck, Idaho, this ~day of January, 1974.
