WHEREAS, Idaho Code §50-214 authorizes any City council,
by resolution, to provide for taking a census or enumeration of
the inhabitants of the municipality; and
WHEREAS, the population of the city as determined by
a special census shall be used in apportionment of state revenues
in which the city may share; and
WHEREAS, the ~ity Council of Chubbuck, Idaho, recognizes
that the population of this city has grown substantially since the
last official census was taken in 1970; and
WHEREAS, the City Council is informed that the cost of
a special ~ensus may be reliably estimated at $2,270.00 or less;
and
WHEREAS, a determination of the city's current population
likely would result in an increase of state revenues exceeding
the cost of conducting the census, and would be useful to the city
for other purposes;
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Mayor and Council of
the City of Chubbuck; Idaho, that the servmces of the Bureau of
Census, United States Department of Commerce, shall be engaged
for the purpose of taking a special census of the population of
the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, ak the earliest feasible date. The
Mayor of the City~of Chubbuck, Idaho, is hereby authorized to
communicate with the Bureau for the purpose of arranging the
conduct of the census.
PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL of the City
of Chubbuck, Idaho, this 18th day of December, 1973.
