WHEREAS, the city of Chubbuck has been receiving fiscal assistance through th
allocation of federal do~der the General Revenue Sharing program; and
WP~S, the Revenue Sharing Program is an excellant form of federal-local co-
peration which enables the city of Ohubbuck to use its revenue sharing funds to
meet the locally determined priorit~ needs of the community; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Chubbuck have exercised effective local control in setting
priorities for the expenditure of revenue sharing dollars ;. and
WH~, the city of Ohubbuck has appropriated $ 60.610,00 of revenue sharing funds
that have been received during the past two years as follows:

W~S, the current inflationary rate of 12% is also undermining the ability of
city hall to provide essential services to the community within reasonable and accept-
able levels of local taxation and the General Revenue Sharing Program is providing
essential fiscal relief to the devastating impact of inflation; and
WHEREAS,the General Revenue Sharing Program, which began in 1972, will terminate
in 1976 unless the 9~th Congress authorizes an extension of the General Revenue Sharing
Program; and
WHYS, the termination of the General Revenue Sharing Program will place the
city in the untenable position of either having to decrease essential community
services or raise taxes;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESC~VED that the city of Chubbuck speaking thmough its
locally elected council and mayor, unanimously endorses the continuation of the
General Revenue Sharing program and calls upon the 94th Congress to re-enact the
General Revenue Sharing program in order to insure that vitally needed federal
assistance will be provided to American cities.
