I~HEREAS, the Mayor and Council are informed that the
U.S. Forest Service will soon consider a proposal for
expansion and further development of the ski and recreation
area known as Pebble Creek near Inkom, Bannock County, Idaho;
and
WHEREAS, such expansion and development would be
beneficial to the economy of Bannock County, including many
service industries and enterprises in the Pocatello-Chubbuck
metroDolitan area; and
WHEREAS, increased ski and recreation opportunities at
Pebble Creek would reduce the inconvenience, loss of time, and
substantial energy costs incurred by residents of this area
who seek such opportunities elsewhere in Idaho, Utah and
Wyoming;
NOW, TtIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council
of the City of Chubbuck hereby express their support for the
concept of enhanced ski and recreational opportunities at
Pebble Creek, and urge the U.S. Forest Service to approve ex-
pansion and further development of Pebble Creek, consistent
with sound planning and reasonable environmental considerations
for the area.
