A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK RATIFYING THE FORMATION
OF THE NORTH BANNOCK METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR
THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING AN ON-GOING TRANSPORTATION PLANNING
PROGRAM IN ACCORD WITH REQUIREMENTS OF THE FEDERAL HIGHWAY
ADMINISTRATION.
WHEREAS, the cities of Pocatello and Chubbuck have been
designated as "urbanized areas" by the U.S. Bureau of Census;
and
WHEREAS, such urbanized areas are required by the Federal
Highway administration to establish a "Metropolitan Planning
Organization" and provide a continuous transportation planning
program in order to receive matching funds for improvement
projects; and
WHEREAS, representatives of the City of Pocatello, the
City of Chubbuck, and Bannock County have met to develop Bylaws,
Articles of Association, and elected officers for a orooosed
Metropolitan Planning Organization; and
WHEREAS, such organizational structure is in keeping
with the goals and policies of this community;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of Chubbuck does
hereby concur with the establishment of the Metropolitan
Planning Organization as outlined in its Articles of Associa-
tion and Bylaws; and ~
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City of Chubbuck does hereby
agree to provide representation to the M.P.O. and through said
reoresentatives meet the planning requirements of the Federal
Highway Administration in accordance with the Urbanized Area
designation.
