AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO,
ADOPTING THE 1973 EDITION OF THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE
PROMULGATED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF
BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS
ASSOCIATION, PROVIDING THAT THREE COPIES OF THE
CODE AND AMENDMENTS THERETO SHALL BE ON FILE IN THE
OFFICE OF THE CITY CLERK, REPEALING ALL CONFLICTING
ORDINANCES, AND PROVIDING WHEN THIS ORDINANCE SHALL
BECOME EFFECTIVE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO:
SECTION 1: Purpose. That the purpose of this
ordinance is to safeguard to a reasonable degree life and property
from the hazards of fire and explosion arrising from the storage,
handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices,
and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the use or
occupancy of buildings or premises.
SECTION 2: A~o~ti~n of fire code. That the 1973
edition of the Uniform Fire Code, promulgated by the International
Conference of Building Officials and the Western Fire Chiefs
Association, is hereby adopted and incorporated as an ordinance
of the City of Chubbuck, in its current form and as it may hereafter
be amended, as though set forth at length herein.
SECTION 3: Filing. That three copies of the 1973
edition of the Uniform Fire Code, together with all amendments
thereto, duly certified by the City Clerk, shall be kept on file
in the Clerk's office for use and examination by the public.
SECTION 4: Repeal. That all prior conflicting
ordinances of the City of Chubbuck are hereby repealed to the
extent of such conflicts.
PASSED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL of the City of
Chubbuck, Idaho, this 19 day of March, 1974.
