HomeMy WebLinkAbout0100 Water Rates 1971ORDINANCE NO. ~ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO, PROVIDING FOR THE AMENDMENT OF ORDINANCE NUMBER 79 OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO, TO REPEAL SECTION 3-1-32 and 3-1-33 OF SAID ORDINANCE AND TO ESTABLISH REVISED WATER RATES WITHIN AND WITHOUT THE CITY LIMITS: ESTABLISHING LIABILITIES UPON PROPERTY OWNERS FOR PAYMENT OF WATER BILLS. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHUBBUCK, IDAHO, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That Section 3-1-32 of Ordinance No. 79 of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, passed and enacted the 12th day of November, 1968, is hereby repealed. That in lieu thereof there is hereby enacted the following: 3-1-32 Water Rates Inside City Limits: Monthly rates for water furnished through meters shall be as follows: a. For the first five thousand gallons or any part thereof, a total of $3.00. b. For the next 95,000 gallons, 35¢ per thousand gallons, or any part thereof. c. For the next 50,000 gallons, 25¢ per thousand gallons, or any part thereof. d. For all water furnished over~50,000 gallons, 20¢ per thousand, or any part thereof. Provided, however, that in no case shall the rate for water f~ - nished through each meter be less than the following: For each three-fourths inch (3/4") service line $3.00 For one inch (1") service line 3.50 For one and one-fourth (1¼") inch service line 4.25 For one and one-half (1½") inch service line 4.75 For two inch (2") service line 5.00 For three inch (3") service line 6.00 For four inch (4") service line 8.50 For six inch (6") service line 14.50 For eight inch (8") service line 21.00 Provided, further, that for water furnished the National Guard Armory, School District No. 25, the County Fairgrounds, and to other governmental units, as and when directed by the City Council, the rate charge shall be .20 (twenty cents) per one thousand (1,000) gallons. Total chargeable consumption shall be through all meters serving the properties of each, except if less than three thousand (3,000) gallons is used, the minimum meter rates shall be charged. Page 1 3-1-33 Water Rates Outside City Limits: Monthly rates for water furnished th~mgh meters shall be as follows: a. For the first five thousand gallons or any part thereof, a total of $~3..~0~' b. Provided, however, that in no case shall the rate for water fur- nished through each meter be less than the following: For each three-fourths inch (3/4") service line $3.30 For one inch (1") service line 3.85 For one and one-fourth (1¼") service line 4.68 For one and one-half (1½") inch service line 5.23 For two inch (2") service line 5.50 For three inch (3") service line 6~,60 For four inch (4") service line 9.~3'5 For six inch (6") service line 15.95 For eight inch (8") service line 21..10' Section 2. Every owner of property in the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, upon allowing any other person to occupy the same whether or not such occupancy be for monatery consideration does thereby authorize the said person to act as the agent for the owner in obtaining water from the City of Chubbuck for such property, and regardless of the arrangements for the payment for the use of said water shall be made between the property owner aM the ~er thereof, the Owner of said property shall be liable to the City of Chubbuck for the payment for any water ~ ed upon said property. Section 3. This ordinance shall supercede any and all ordinances in conflict herewith and any and all other ordinances of the City of Chubbuck not in conflict herewith shall remain in full force and effect. Section 4. That an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
