The holidays are with us again. We have
had some good moisture and hopefully this
will continue. May I make a few sugges-
tions that can save you "energy" money.
1. Turn off lights when not needed.
2. Turn off the TV when no one is
watching.
3. Tum off your computer at night.
4. Set your thermostat to 68° in winter
daytime and 63° at night. Wear a
sweater if not comfortable.
5. Utilize your room ceiling fan or other
fan instead of air conditioner when
possible.
6. Set your hot water heater at 120°.
The above suggestions have been given to
me and will save energy and money. If you
can save $5 a month and we probably
could when we multiply that out to all the
households in this valley we would save a
great amount of energy and money in a
year.

Chubbuck! This is your chance to review
the new comprehensive plan "Our Valley
Our Vision: Chubbuck: A Look to the
Future." The open house will be held in
council chambers January 7th 2003, 3:00

not one for any other city. Many of you
have input into this plan. Come see how
your contributions and suggestions helped
form a twenty year vision for our future.
Ask questions of the commissioners and
volunteers. Enjoy light refreshments, pick
up materials about our local businesses,
service organizations, volunteer groups and
try for a door prize. Your input before the
Commission presents this to the City
Council is welcome and needed.

Harker 237-8348 or City Hall 237-2400.

Land Use Commission includes: Chubbuck

CHUBBUCK PRIDE
Chubbuck City Pride is pleased to an-
nounce that the Lighting contest for this
year will be November 30' through
December 201h. Certificates will be issued
to 12 neighborhoods, 1 commercial winner,
1 junior lighter, the Mayor's choice, best
small display and the coveted, over all
best, the "Clark Griswald" award. You
know Clark, he always did just a little
more to get the holiday spirit. The best
neighborhood will be announced in the
paper along with those who win first place
in each neighborhood. We encourage your
neighborhood signs to go up as your
neighborhood displays begin to be lighted.
We are now the place to go for holiday
lighting for all of east Idaho. Keep up the
great work, the judges will visit your
neighborhoods three times over the three
and one half week judging period. Please
have your light's on from 6:30 PM until
8:00 to accommodate judging teams. If you
have questions or wish to nominated a
junior competitor (10-17) who has
planned and mounted at least 60% of the
lighting call Mary Harker 237-8348.
BUILDING1
Building Department questionnaire:
The Building Code & Fire Code requires
that addresses be visible and posted at the
front of each Building for which of the
following reasons?
A. Because they look so nice with your
decorations.
B. To help out of town friends locate
your home.
C. So emergency services can quickly
locate the property.
D. To get the pizza delivered to the
correct party.
After you have resided or painted your
home you need to replace the street
numbers for which ever reason you find
best.
WATER BILLS
DEPARTMENTWATER
Just a reminder that during the months of
December, January and March water
meters are not read. These are the colder
months of the year and the water meter
can/vault provides it's own insulation
preventing freezing/breaking of the meter.
If you notice any meter can/vault lids not
shut securely please contact the city
offices and one of our trained technicians
will correct the problem. Never access the
water meter can/vault as damage to the
meter and possible electronic equipment
could occur and this would be very costly
to you, only city personnel are allowed
access to the water meter cans/vaults.
Thank you.
