The warm days, cool nights, changing leaves, and final harvest of the garden are nice after a long hot summer. We will enjoy this pleasant fall weather while it lasts and hope for good precipitation this winter. The Knudsen Boulevard Road Project has been completed. There was a ribbon cutting ceremony on September 19`h when the road was officially opened and both signal lights made operational. We believe that this will provide a signifi- cant improvement to the traffic patterns in the City as well as enabling new business. The new interstate bridges at I-86 are also nearing completion. We were fortunate that the work is being completed in one construction year rather than two as was originally anticipated. Although it may seem like it has taken longer, they started in March and are a little ahead of schedule but still anticipate completion sometime in November. With both of these projects being completed by the end of the year, we are well positioned for encouraging economic growth in that area. As evidence of that, a Maverick Store in being constructed on the corner of Evans and Yellowstone next to McKee's. Just a reminder, as yard projects are completed and we get our property ready for winter, it is important that if you an- ticipate doing any burning you check with the fire department to get a permit along with a copy of any pertinent regula- tions. They can provide you with the necessary information. I am continually reminded of how grateful I am to live in this place in the world. The best part of living here is the people. I really appreciate you. Let's all continue to make Chubbuck a wonderful place to live and do business! Winter will soon be upon us and as the weather turns cold and the snow be- gins to fly we would like to give a friendly reminder to all about parking and snow removal. Please be courteous to your neighbors and customers by removing snow and ice from walk ways, sidewalks and parking lots. City code (Ord: 08-28-030) requires owners or renters of properties to provide "all weather passage" to pedestrians, which means you must shovel your snow. Yes! You can be cited for not shoveling your snow! Additionally, we ask that you do not plow, shovel or blow snow into city streets. Please place your snow on your property and not upon the city street sides. Winter parking becomes a problem when those who park on the streets (legally and illegally) are in the way of snow removal equipment. We ask that citizens park all vehicles off the street if at all possible during win- ter to facilitate snow removal. If a snow emergency is declared by the mayor, those who fail to remove their vehi- cle may have it towed to an alternate location and face paying a tow bill. If we can abide by these laws we can continue to enjoy this wonderful place to live. You may clarify these codes by going to httpHwww.cityofchubbuck.us/cpd/codeenforcement.aspx or by calling 237-7172 asking for code enforcement.
