City of Chubbuck Newsletter
Vol. 8 Issue 8
Message from the Mayor:
August 2013
It seems as though summer just began and now school is just a few weeks away from starting again. For those of you
who have students in any of the local High Schools this year, I would like to remind you that the Mayors of both Chub -
buck and Pocatello sponsor a combined Mayor's Youth Advisory Council made up of students from the four High
Schools. An application for participation is available at the school offices or at either City's Mayor's offices. We like to
have a fairly even representation from all of the schools. As your students are deciding on what extracurricular activities
to participate in, they may want to consider this opportunity. It has been a great experience to work with these young
people in the past few years, and we anticipate another great year of activities.
Chubbuck Days will be the second week in August again this year, with the parade and festival at Cotant Park being the
culminating event on Saturday the 10`". We have included information about the activities in this newsletter. You will
note that we have a new event this year. Allstate will be providing a community pancake breakfast and flag raising at
Cotant Park beginning at 7:00 AM before the Parade. We encourage you to get an early start and plan to join us. We
again thank the area businesses as well as individuals and organizations who are assisting in the success of our event this
year. A lot of City employees have contributed in various ways and I encourage you to express your appreciation as the
opportunity presents itself.
There is additional information in this newsletter on several other issues of importance for you as residents. We hope that
you will look through them and participate as they pertain to you. Please feel free to contact us if you need any further
clarification or information about these items.
Enjoy the rest of the summer. Drive carefully in your vacation travels so you can make it safely back to Chubbuck ---
THE GREATEST PLACE TO LIVE AND DO BUSINESS.
