As Independence Day approaches, let me explain a couple of items. First, because the 4`h of July falls on a
Sunday this year, we are unable to organize the recognition event that we have provided in the past. We en-
courage everyone to display the flag on their property in some fashion and to remember the purpose of the
holiday. Secondly, fireworks sales are allowed at licensed outlets in the city during the two weeks prior to July
4`h. Please only use legal fireworks in approved areas and, even then, participate with care. These restrictions
and precautions are intended to help prevent fires or injuries. Plan to have, as they say, a "safe and sane" Inde-
pendence Day.
I hope you are all planning to participate with us this year in the Chubbuck Days celebration. The traditional
parade and festival are scheduled for Saturday, August 14th. For the third year, we are going to provide a
youth dance at the Hockey Rink on Friday evening, and it will again double as a fund raising activity for the
Highland High School Student Government. We have included more detailed information about this event as
well as other activities in this newsletter. We are making some special efforts to make this a really fun, exciting
and family oriented experience. Bring your friends and neighbors, and we'll see you there. As always, I thank
each of you for making Chubbuck such a great place to live and do business.

JOINT US FOR CHUBBUCK DAYS August 12th -
Chubbuck Days is in the works. The
three-day tennis tournament begins August
12th, and there is a youth dance planned at
the Capell Park hockey arena on the eve-
ning of Friday, August 13th.
Don't forget to mark Saturday, August
14th, on your calendar for the main Chub -
buck Days festivities. We will have the
Parade at 10:00 AM. The Festival at Co-
tant Park will include food, a tennis tour-
nament, a car & motorcycle show, the tra-
ditional Police v. Fire softball game, and
music. Many businesses are already plan-
ning to provide fun family activities.

August 9-14, 2010
The 2010 North Bannock County Fair will
have activities from August 9th through Au-
gust 14th. Exhibit entry days are August 9th
and 10th. Admission is free to enjoy a lot of
fun activities and contests for all ages.
This year's fair features a special jousting
event called the Tournament of Champions.

Tennis Clinic
for Beginners
Every Saturday
beginning July 17th
9:00 to 10:30 AM
at Cotant Park
These clinics are designed for begin-
ning players of all ages. You will learn
the fundamentals and rules of tennis in
a fun, family -friendly group. The in-
structors will get you playing in no time
and enjoying the health and social
benefits of tennis. Just show up and
bring your own racquets. Each Satur-
day clinic will cost $5 per person or
$15 per family.

In our democratic form of government, city employees are public servants. We are anxious to serve you the best
way we can. There are many maintenance and operational problems that are faced daily, City employees find
many of these problems and take care of them before citizens become aware of them. Other times, you may
spot something we have missed. We encourage you to tell us about these problems, so we can fix them for you.
There are also times you might wish to pass on a good word to city workers. We invite you to use this form to "Tell It
