HomeMy WebLinkAbout10 01 1988 House Bill 592PUBLICATION OF OFFICIAL NOTICES House Bill 592 passed by the 1988 Idaho Legislature raises the rates for publication of official notices 250. The new rates are effective October 1, 1988 and October 1, 1989. The rate is based on each pica in a column line and charged on a per line basis. A pica is 1/6th of an inch and column widths for notices vary all the way from 8' picas to 19-1, picas (and even longer lines for certain financial reports). If the newspaper photos the notice insist on a reduction to the legal type size. An examination of official notices appearing in newspapers throughout the state indicates that some publishers are not "setting" the copy to type to conform to the 8 point maximum allowed by law but are "setting" it in a larger type size. Some newspapers are just photographing the copy as submitted for publication and not reducing it to the legal type size. The following pages contain examples of notices published using an "illegal" type size and reduced by AIC to show the legal type size.
