1. Discussion on changes to City Titles 15, 16, and 17.

2. Discussion on FY17 Fire Department Budget, Chief King.
The Chief would like to start building a strategic plan. Chief would like to reduce run
times and is having issues with being able to handle the call volumes, especially
overlapping calls. He has four options to present. Chief King would like to have more
full time firefighters and needs to replace his front line engine and Arial apparatus. Chief

Ronna Dueling from the Senior Center explained the support received by the Center and
various ways the Center has pursued additional funding. The annual budget for the
Center is $270,000. They serve anyone age 50 and over. Ms. Dueling explained the cost
of each meal, the contributions they ask for and the reimbursements received.
Councilmember Lewis asked about ways to reduce the cost of meals.
Visit Pocatello, Stephanie Palagi, gave a brief history of how Visit Pocatello started
alongside with the auditorium district. Currently they are a separate visitor bureau for the
area with one employee. Ms. Palagi explained their budget, where there support comes
from and how they leverage that support through grants. They advertise in Canada, Utah,
all over the Midwest. The promote conventions, sporting events and similar activities in
the area.
