On October 13, 1998, the
Chubbuck City Council
approved the first read-
ing of the proposed
franchise ordinance with
TCI Cablevision of Ida-
ho, Inc. The full text of
the ordinance will be
mailed upon request or
will be available for re-
view at the Chubbuck
City Office, 5160 Yel-
lowstone, Chubbuck, ID
83202.
The proposed ordinance
would repeal former Ca-
ble TV Ordinance No.
262 and would provide
for a nonexclusive fran-
chise for the operation
of cable communication
systems to TCI Cablevi-
sion of Idaho, Inc. for a
period of 15 years. The
ordinance provides defi-
nitions, establishes the
franchise area as within
the boundaries of the
City of Chubbuck and
provides for a review of
the franchise every
three years. The ordi-
nance provides for reg-
ulations for the use of
public rights -o€ -way and
restoration thereof,
provides authority to
trim tress, move build-
ings and other such
items, provides specifi-
cations for the system,
requires installation to
public schools, provides
for required categories
for programming and lo-
cal access channel, in-
cluding government and
community access,
provides specifications
for the system, requires
installation to public
schools, provides for re-
quired categories for
programming and local
access channel, includ-
ing government and
community access,
provides for a capital
contribution through
payments that are reim-
bursed by the subscrib-
ers, provides for access
support of $.30,
provides for reports,
regulatory provisions
and remedies, land ex-
tension policies and
provides for a 5% fran-
chise fee based upon
the annual grass reve-
nues fr9r_�Dscribers
within the City of Chub -
buck.
