BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING
October 27, 2016

Present: Kevin England, Chubbuck Mayor -Chairman

Chairman England called the meeting to order at 10:20 am.
1. Approve minutes of board meeting held April 23, 2015
Mayor entertained a motion. Herrick moved to approve April 23, 2015 minutes. Seconded by
Hadley. All voted in favor.
2. Report on Status of Loans:
18.45 million dollars is the total cost to build the Northwest Sewer Interceptor. 15.3 million
dollars is the balance left to pay.
3. Sewer Connection Fee Discussion
The sewer connection fee was put into place in 2006. Prior to the Northwest Sewer Interceptor
the connection fee was $1000.00. Now to connect to the Interceptor it is $5490.00. Mayor has
had concerns voiced by builders that such a jump in the sewer connection fee will slow building
down in Chubbuck. After a discussion between board members and staff regarding adjusting
the fee it was the consensus that building will not be effected by the higher fee. Bannock
County approved a new development on Rio Vista and nothing was said by the builder about
the higher fee. To put in a septic tank is approx. $7000.00. City of Chubbuck staff will tell
builders what their sewer connection fee will be at the pre -development meetings.
4. Items from the Board
The meeting will be held on January 26, 2017. Hadley will be retired from the County so Karl
Anderson will be the representative for the County.
