HomeMy WebLinkAbout08 14 1984 CM91 COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES August 14, 1984 Minutes of regular council meeting held in the city municipal building, August 14, 1984. Present: Mayor John 0. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins, Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Attorney B. Lynn Winmill, Engineer Steven M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin. Councilman Thomas S. Nield was excused. Meeting called to order at 7:31 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Mayor Cotant asked for corrections and additions to the council meeting minutes of July 24, 1984. After discussion Councilwoman Hopkins moved to approve minutes of July 24 with corrections and additions to Chase Park Petition, Appeal to the Council by Brent V. Simonson and Heritage West Subdivision. City Clerk Ron Conlin revised the minutes of July 24 passed them to the Council. Councilman England seconded. All councilmembers present voted in favor of motion. PUBLIC HEARING - Review of preliminary plat for the Briscoe Subdivision, 1st. Addition, a subdivision located in Section 2, T6S, R34E, which is located east of Whitaker Road, west of Hiline and north of Vern, proposed to be developed by Franklin Briscoe, 5058 Whitaker Road, Chubbuck, Idaho. Franklin Briscoe and Mariano Ybarra, Jr. was present to answer any questions the council might have. Mayor Cotant declared the public hearing open. Mayor Cotant asked Mr. Ybarro if he was agreeable to having his lot included in the Briscoe Subdivision. Mr. Ybarro stated he would be agreeable. Considerable discussion about putting the road through to Whitaker Road. Mr. Briscoe stated he would not be able to continue the project if he was required to put the road through to Whitaker Road. Councilman Quick moved to approve the preliminary plat of the Briscoe Subdivision, 1st. addition with the recommendations of the Land Use and Development Commission. Councilman England seconded. Roll Call Vote: Hopkins, yes; Quick, yes; England, yes, Nield, absent. GENERAL DISCUSSION 1) Bannock County Well - water rights. 2) Swimming Pool Committee. 3) Utility Street Fee. 4) Discussion on 1984-85 Budget. It was decided for Mayor Cotant, Council, Engineer and City Clerk to meet a 7:00 a.m. Wednesday the 15th August to work on budget. CLAIMS - Computer print-out claims and hand check claims have been presented to Mayor Cotant and Council. After discussion Councilman Quick moved to approve the claims as presented. Council- man England seconded.
