Cotant, Jr., Councilmen Dwain A Kinghorn, LeRoy S. Quick, Earl L. Romriell and Clerk Vera Armstrong. Councilman Boyd L. Fullmer excused. Meeting called to order at 5:00 p.m. This special meeting called by Mayor Cotant to recommend and possibly make appointments to the Planning and Zoning Commission. PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS - Mayor Cotant in- formed council he has interviewed the following residents relative to serving on the commission and presented the cs following names; Becky Hopkins, Janet Williams, James Cooper X and Mike Metcalfe. -v a� Three members fo the Planning and Zoning Commission have terminated their membership and it is necessary to appoint 'o rn new members at this time to fill the vacancies on the QC commission. After reviewing Mayor Cotants recommendations, the council o°-O c o requested the opportunity to meet and visit with Mrs. Hopkins, ro 4--) 4--) Mrs. Williams and Mr. Cooper. o • a) � ° 0 Councilman Romriell moved to a CD r -,,,Q = � approve the appointment of C) r 0i Mike Metcalfe to the Planning and Zoning Commission to fill r(naDv the unexpired term of Ed Reese. Councilman Quick seconded ` `-.S.- motion. All councilmen voted in favor of motion. Mr. Metcalfe's W o M term will then expire June 1, 1978. = aa, Clerk Vera Armstrong informed council she plans to invest 0'0 �,-C $180,000.00 in Time Certificates of Deposit out of the (0 General Fund. All council were in agreement to the investment 3 o plans. c-4?� tENERAL DISCUSSIONS - Mayor and council reviewed the letter received +-)(s from Aztec Limited Inc., at the time the payment of $10,000.00 4--) 0--S- was made to the city in lieu of drilling a well in the Alturas C U a ro Park Subdivision. Aztec Limited Inc. wrote in the letter that s = 4--) N they understood the money was to be used for the direct benefit goo 0 u 3 3 of the home and property owners in the Alturas Park. rn a4- Mayor and council voiced their opinion to the effect that the c r " .— city is not obligated nor do they feel compelled to spend this O,3 money specifically for Alturas Park residents, that the ex- aic ^ penditure could be made for improvements to water or parks in C: 0 •r N o the general area.
