COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
June 11 `h 2002
Minutes of a Special Meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, June l lth, 2002.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Marvin
C. Gunter, B. Kent Kearns, Attorney Thomas J. Holmes, Public Works Director Steven
M. Smart and City Clerk Ron C. Conlin.
Meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING is to conduct a study session with Fire Chief Eric King and
the North Bannock County Fire District Commissioners to discuss the North Bannock
County Fire District Agreement. Fire Chief Eric King was present.
North Bannock County Fire District Representatives present were Fire District
Commission Lance Traughber, Attorney Robert Eldridge and Lisa Wise.
Tim Shurtliff, Bannock County was present.
At the February 12t", 2002 meeting, the North Bannock County Fire District
Representatives and the Chubbuck City Council agreed to meet again in May, 2002 at
6:30 p.m. to continue discussion about increasing the fee for Chubbuck Fire Department
fire coverage in North Bannock County Fire District.
Fire Chief Eric King stated he invited Fred Judd, Bureau of Land Management to the
meeting to discuss possible ways to get funding from the Federal people.
Fred Judd said because of Idaho having more fires in year 2001 than any other state the
BLM is giving funding to Cities.
Fred Judd gave a report on possible funding sources he will work on.
The following is possible funding:
1. Fire wise clean up day -
2. Door to Door campaigns -
3. Water development -
4. Start on list of mitigation -
$ 5,000.00
$ 10,000.00
$ 30,000.00
$ 10,000.00
Total $ 55,000.00
Mr. Judd said the National Office said you cannot use these funds for infrastructure type
things.

Tim Shurtliff and FC King were directed to make contact with all fire districts and
coordinate efforts in getting any funding possible.
At 7:30 p.m, Councilman Quick moved, Councilman England seconded, all council members
voted in favor of motion.

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50 -604, the undersigned Mayd"f the City of Chubbuck,
Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck Municipal
Building, at the hour of 6:30 p.m, on Tuesday, the 23rd day of April, 2002. The purpose of the
Special Meeting shall be to conduct a study session to discuss proposed fee increases for Land
Use applications.
