HomeMy WebLinkAbout05 14 2013 CMCity of Chubbuck 41 Council Meeting Minutes May 14, 2013 7:00 p.m. Minutes of a regular Council Meeting held at the Chubbuck City Council Chambers, May 14, 2013. Present: Mayor Steven England, Council Members: Josh Ellis, Kevin England, Brent Marshall, Kermit Morrison. Attorney Thomas Holmes, Deputy City Clerk Eric Jablonski. The meeting was called to order at 7:OOpm by Mayor Steven England. The Invocation was offered by Bishop Steve Nielsen of the 48th Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints. The Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag was led by Alex Prescott from Troop 318 of the Boy Scouts of America. Approval of Minutes. Council Member Morrison moved to approve the regular meeting minutes of April 23, 2013 with a correction on the second for Swire and Treasure Valley Purchases. The second on that motion was Council Member Morrison. Council Member Marshall seconded. Roll call vote: England -yes, Ellis -yes, Marshall -yes, Morrison -yes. A Proclamation declaring May 5 -11, 2013 as Children's Mental Health Awareness Week was read by the Mayor. Mark Gunning accepted the proclamation. Public Hearing on proposed ordinance amending chapter 18.08 to provide for a zoning district known as Limited Residential -P (R -2P). Mayor England declared the public hearing open. There being no comment, Mayor England Declared the public hearing closed. Ordinance #720 to Provide for a zoning district known as Limited Residential -P (R -2P). It was explained that the difference between R2 and R -2P was a minimum yard width. R2 yard width is 60ft and R -2P's yard width is 50ft. This reduction in yard width would reduce the minimum lot area per household dwelling. R2's minimum lot area is 6,000. R -2P's minimum lot area is 5,000 sq ft per household with no more than 34% of the lot covered by the dwelling and garage. There is a waiver procedure in place. Council Member Ellis moved to reaffirm the councils action on April 23, 2013 to waive the rule to read the ordinance on three separate occasions one being in full and to adopt ordinance #720 and granting a waiver for existing residences that would fall under this zone. Council Member England seconded. Roll call vote: England -yes, Ellis -yes, Marshall -yes, Morrison -yes n n Council Meeting Minutes - Continued May 14, 2013 43 Approval of records destruction. A list of records to be destroyed was presented to the council. Two items were removed from the list. Water quality reports and bids for a used Pontiac. Those records will be returned to Public Works. Council Member England moved to approve the destruction of listed records with the exception of the two records noted above. Council Member Morrison seconded. Roll call vote: England - yes, Ellis -yes, Marshall -yes, Morrison -yes Computer printout claims for May 14, 2013 were presented to Mayor England and Council. Council Member England moved to approve the claims as published. Council Member Ellis seconded. Roll call vote: England -yes, Ellis -yes, Marshall -yes, Morrison -yes.
