Minutes of a ~pecial meeting of the mayor and council held in the city municipal
building November 5, 1975.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmen Dwain Kinghorn, Jack Menard,
Wayne Taylor and Clerk Vera Armstrong. .Councilman Romriell attended last

Purpose of special meet~]g is to canvas election results.
Meeting called to order at 7:50 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
Ballot box was unlocked and the ballots, poll book and tally book were removed.
Mayor Cotant opened the sealed envelope containing a tally book, poll book,
used ballot pads plus pads with the first unused ballots of Municipal Election
and Municipal Water Bond Election. Mayor and Council checked poll books, tally
books, ballots~ ballot pads with the f~rst unused ballots.
Councilman Kinghorn moved the council accept the election results of the
November ~, 1975 election as tallied. Councilman Taylor seconded motion with
an unanimous vote in favor. Tabulation of the votes were as follows:
Municipal Election=James (Jim) D. Chastain-25& votes for councilman; Boyd L (F)
Fullmer-519 votes for councilman; Dwain A. Kinghorn - 269 votes for councilman;
Jack J. Menard - 201 votes for councilman; A. Kirk Beck - 1 vote for councilman;
Bart Parrish - 1 vote for councilman; Ralph Michaelson - 1 vote for councilman;
James Rielly - 1 vote for councilman; Paul Thompson - 1 vote for councilman;
Khalil Harris - 2 votes for councilman.
Municipal Water Bend Election - In favor of issuing revenue bonds for the
purposes provided by Ordinance#iS7=573; Against the issuance of revenue bonds
for the purposes provided by Ordinance #157 - 155.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 p.m.
