November 2, 1978
Minutes of public hearing meeting on the Land Development Ordinance
held in the city municipal building November 2, 1978, a recessed
meeting of October 24.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr. Councilmen Boyd L. Fullmer,
Dwain A. Kinghorn, LeRoy S. Quick, Engineer Steven M. Smart and
Clerk Vera C. Armstrong. Councilman Earl Lo Romriell and Attorney
Donald L. Burnett, Jr. excused.
Meeting called to order at 6:45 p.m.
The public hearing continued starting withChapter III - Development
Regulations and Standards - page 14.
SECTION 3-3, paragraph (b) sub-paragraph (4) page 17, line 5, delete "(400) feet" and substitute "(1000) feet"
SECTION 3-3, paragraph (b) sub-paragraph (6) page 17, line 2,
delete "three thousand (3000) feet" and substitute "two thousand (2000) feet."
SECTION 3-3, paragraph (b) sub-paragraph (17) page 18, line 2, strike
word "vertical" and substitute "approved."
SECTIOn! 3-3, paragraph (c), sub-paragraph (3), pagelS, line 5, delete "but,
in no case, will any lot consist of less than six thousand (6,000) square
feet of area nor will any lot depth be less than one hundred (100) feet.
SECTION 3~d, paragraph (c), sub-paragraph (5), page 19, delete the sub-
paragraph and substitute "Lot width (s) shall conform to the land
use (zoning) ordinance.
SECTION 3-3, paragraph (c), sub-paragraph (6), page 19, Council questioned
if wording of paragraph is sufficient for corner lots, and if a
minimum corner lot width should be added to the zoning height and
regulations in the land use ordinance.
SECTION 3-3, paragraph (e), sub-paragraph (1), add that developer shall be
responsible for metal street light po]es being installed; page 20.
SECTION 33, paragraph (e), sub-paragraph (2), Mayor and council discussed
possibility of requiring cable tv and gas company to bury their cables
and lines prior to paving of streets; page 20.
SECTION 3-3, paragraph (f), add to end of paragraph "as prescribed by
City Engineer."; page 21.
SECTZON 3-3, paragraph (g), page 21, paragraph to end with words "City
Engineer". delete balance of sentence.
Councilman Quick moved, Fullmer seconded to recess public hearing meeting
until November 16, at 6:30 p.m.
