COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
September 19, 1978
Minutes of recessed public hearing on Land Use Ordinance and Land
Development Ordinance, held in city municipal building, September
19, 1978.
Present: President of council Earl Romriell and Councilman Dwain
Kinghorn, LeRoy Quick and Boyd Fullmer and City Attorney Donald Burnett.
Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr. was excused.
Meeting called to order at 8:10 p.m. by President of council Earl Romriell.
PUBLIC HEARING ITEM: LAND USE ORDINANCE, President of council Romreill
opened the hearing on the Land Use Ordinance and noted the Council had
been working on the General Controls.
A general discussion followed on thi,s category, with changes made of
general controls submitted by the Planning and Zoning Commission.
Glen Marshall asked how soon the council would be adopting the Land
Use Ordinance and Land Development Ordinance. Attorney Burnett explained
the procedure that would be followed and said the Mayor and Council was
desirous of having them adopted as soon as possible.
LeRoy Quick made motion to recess meeting until September 22, 1978,
at 8:00 p.m. following the regular agenda items. Dwain Kinghorn
seconded the motion, with full council approval.
Meeting adjourned at 11:45 p.m.
