Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins, Dwain A. Kinghorn, LeRoy S. Quick, Earl [. Romriell, Attorney Donald L. Burnett, Jr., City Clerk Vera C. Armstrong, Engineer Steven M. Smart excused. Meeting called to order by Mayor Cotant at 8:08 p.m. SPECIAL PROJECT PROPOSAL -Stan Gullion, 823 Victor, made a proposal to city council to organize and paint 25 street signs in the Country Acres Subdivision. He said twelve sign posts need painted, one replaced and two straightened. Scout Troup #125 will help do the labor. Mr. Gullion requested city furnish supplies. Mayor Cotant thanked Mr. Gullion for the civic proposal and told him the city would have Public Works Director Steven Smart contact him regarding this project. GENERAL DISCUSSIONS 1. Fire Department meeting Wednesday, March 19. Mayor invited council to attend. 2. Proposal for bid on a fire truck. Mayor told council he had asked Chief Jones to gather information. 3. Volunteer firemen eligible for public employee retirement. Attorney Burnett researched and gave report to Mayor Cotant. Junk cars on Mingo - several cars at one location and all cars are registered in the names of persons living at the location. Attorney Burnett told council he would research the possibility of amending the ordinance to control this problem. 5. Chubbuck Days set for June 27 and 28. 6. Agreement for conveyance of property, Bannock County Fire Truck, a 1968 GMC Serial H970ADO035962, to the city of Chubbuck as long as the city shall utilize the truck in providing fire protection services to the Bannock County Fire Protection District, was reviewed by Attorney Burnett and is to be placed on council agenda March 25. PUBLIC HEARING - LAND USE AMENDMENTS - Mayor Cotant opened the hearing. ITEM # 5 & 6 concerning Mobile Homes and Production Dwellings were discussed with the following suggestions~ 1) ordinance provide that city approve the protective covenants of mobile home courts 2) some possible way city could control the influx of mobile home development within the city. FINANCIAL STATEMENT FOR FEBRUARY presented to mayor and council. BUDGET REPORT FOR FEBRUARY presented to mayor and council. Councilman Romriell moved to continue the Land Use Hearing until after the regular scheduled business at the March 25 meeting. Councilman Kinghorn seconded motion, all councilmembers voted in favor.
