RESOLUTION NO. 3 -2008
WHEREAS, the Idaho Transportation Department, hereafter called the STATE, has
submitted an Agreement stating obligations of the STATE and the CITY OF CHUBBUCK,
hereafter called the CITY, for construction of Hiline Road; Flandro Drive to Chubbuck Road; and
WHEREAS, the STATE is responsible for obtaining compliance with laws, standards and
procedural policies in the development, construction and maintenance of improvements made to the
Federal -aid Highway System when there is federal participation in the costs; and
WHEREAS, the CITY is aware of and supportive of design features of said project; and
WHEREAS the CITY is fully responsible for the maintenance and operation of said project;
and
WHEREAS the CITY has received much input from citizens regarding the difficulty of
entering the intersection of Hiline Road with Mountain Park Lane and Mallard Street, particularly
for left turn movements; and
WHEREAS the CITY recognizes the need for improved intersection traffic control at said
intersection;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
1. The CITY finds that a roundabout, designed in accordance with current engineering
design standards and best engineering design practices, is the preferred alternative for
traffic control at this intersection, as compared to a signalized intersection, a four -way
stop, or doing nothing when installation costs, long term maintenance costs, and
traffic flow and congestion are compared for the current and anticipated future flow of
traffic.
2. That duly certified copies of this Resolution shall be furnished to the Idaho
Transportation Department.
