COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES

Minutes of a special meeting held in the city muniaipal building,
December ?, 1987.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A. Hopkins, Leroy S.
Quick, Steven M. England, Boyd L. Fullmer, Engineer Steven M. Smart and'
City Clerk Ron C. Conlin.
Meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Cotant. _,
PURPOSE OF SPECIAL MEETING was to review applications for City AttornEy position.
SELECTION OF CITY ATTORNEY - The City of Chubbuck published a Notice of Selection
of City Attorney in the Idaho State Journal, stating applications must be
submitted in writing to the Chubbuck City Offices, by December 1, 1987.
Mayor Cotant and Council reviewed the following applications:
Steven G. Wood
Edward J. Berrett
Ben Cavaness
Kelly Kumm
Dave R. Gallafent
Frederick F. Belzer
Monte R. Whittier & John Souza
D. Kirk Bybee
Craig Jorgensen
Guy R. Price
Jenkins Law Office
Cavaness & Boomer
Dial, Looze & May
Merrill & Merrill, Chartered
Whittier & Souza P.A.
Ward, Maguire, Bybee & Kline
Lyon & Jorgensen
Green, Service, Gasser & Kerl
Thomas J. Holmes & Howard D. Burnett-Hawley, Troxell, Ennis 2~.Hawley
Mayor Cotant suggested the same maximum rate be set for the new, attorneY. The
budget is set, we have to stay within budget guidelines.
Councilwoman Hopkins suggested after the process of elimination, the references
stated on the applicants resumes, be contacted.~ ~ ~
Mayor Cotant said he would contact the Judges on the resumes, td get their
feelings on applicants to be interviewed.
After cohsiderable discussion,
the following applicants:

it was decided the Council will interview

Lyon & Jorgensen
At 6:20 p.m., Councilman England moved, Councilwoman Hopkins seco~ed,
council approval to adjourn the meeting.

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Co~e Section 50-604, the undersigned
Mayor of the City o~Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby calls a special
meeting of the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck City
Municipal Building, 5160 Yellowstone Ave., at the hour of
5:00 p.m., on the 7th day of December, 1987. The object of
the special meeting shall be to review applications for City
Attorney.

Pursuant to the call set forth above, notice is hereby
given of a special meeting of the Chubbuck City Council at the
time and placd, and for the object, recited in the call.
