COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
July 14, 1987
Minutes of a regular meeting held in the city municipal building,
July 14, 1987.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Jr., Councilmembers Becky A.
Hopkins, Leroy S. Quick, Steven M. England, Attorney B. Lynn
Winmill, Engineer Steve M. Smart and Secretary Myrna Crapo.
Meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Mayor Cotant asked for corrections and
additions to the minutes of June 23, 1987.
After a discussion on the minutes Councilwoman Hopkins moved
to approve the minUtes of June 23, 1987 with Steven England
seconding. All councilmembers voted in favor.
PROCLAMATION ON NATIONAL NIGHT OUT 1987 was read by the Mayor.
Councilwoman Hopkins made a motion to accept the proclamation
with Councilman Quick seconding the motion. All councilmembers
Voted in favor.
LIQUOR CATERING PERMIT FOR OFFICE BAR to cater E1 Cielito on July
24 and 25th from 6:00 pm-l:00 pm for a Dean Tranmer Wedding.
A discussion followed on the police patroling the area. The
police need to make a special effort on that night to patrol.
A motion to approve the catering permit was made by Councilwoman
Becky Hopkins with Steve England seconding. All councilmembers
voted in favor.
REPORT OF CITY OFFICIALS: THE AMERICAN AUTOMOBILE ASSOCIATION has
awarded the city of Chubbuck a safety citation award for four
consecutive years without pedestrian fatality.
The Mayor read the letter from the A3~A and the councilmembers
discussed it.
CLAIMS - Computer Print-out and handcheck claims presented to Mayor
Cotant and council.
After a discussion on several of the claims Councilwoman Hopkins
made a motion to approve the ~ computer print-out and
handcheck claims with LeRoy Quick seconding. All the councilmembers
voted in favor.
The Council members discussed holding a special meeting at 4:00 pm
to consider insurance for the city.
GENERAL BUSINESS: Councilwoman Hopkins made a motion to go to
executive session for the purpose of discussing personnal.
LeRoy Quick seconded with all councilmembers voting in favor.
The council adjourned to the City Clerks Office. Councilwoman
Hopkins made a motion to come out of executive session, LeRoy
Quick seconded with all councilmembers voting yes.
LeRoy Quick made a motion to adjourn at 7:50 pm with Steve England
seconding. All voted in favor.
