HomeMy WebLinkAbout005 20 71Minutes of the Chubbuck Zoning Commission held May 20, 1971
Meeting called to order by Chairman Del Peters at 8:10
Present: Del Peters, Jim Branson, kod Parrish, Allen Martin, Jack Menard
and Dwain Kinghorn
Bob Grimes and Dave Badten requested in behalf of Boise Cascade that the corner
lots at Chubbuck and Hawthorne be zoned commercial. Boise Cascade has acquired
this property from Roy Neider. This area is. now zoned R-2. It was proposed
that this property stay R-2, for a protective measure and when Boise Cascade has
a definite plan we will consider their request at that time.
Earl Ellis made a request to zone his property on Hawthorne Commercial so that
When heis..able he could put in a mobile home park. This cannot be done at this
time.
Ralph Bistline, Max Parrish and Kent Parrish met with the commission to present
a map of their proposed mobile home park where the residents will buy and own
their lots, also to argue their position to be able to start as soon as possible,
as they don't want to lose this year. Mayor Cotant gave the feelings of the
city council that they all feel the size of the lots is a determining factor
and the history of the cess pools in the area will prove the sewerage systems
would be a problem for drainage, also the protest of the area residents. The
city council feels they must reject this request at this time.
A request by John Valenty to put a mobile home on his lot on Valenty Rd. for his
daughter and son-in-law in the service, as he will be transferred from the east
to the west coast and needs this home for her while this move is taking place,
about 6 months. This request was denied on the grounds that it does not indicate
a hardship case, motion by Allen Martin, secended by Jim Branson. Voting on this
motion was & against and I in favor.
Earl L. Romriell asked for a variance to build a garage on his lot just east of
his house with only 3~ feet from his peoperty line. Motion was made by Jack
Menard in as much as his neighbor Jerry Overdorf and wife has signed an agreement
to this that we the commission submit this variance to the city council providing
that there is l& feet between the garage and the Overdorf home. This was seconded
by Allen Martin and agreed by all.
Meeting adjourned at 10:50 P.M.
