Meeting called to order at 8:1.0 o'clock by Chairman Del Petei:s. Present: Chairman Del Peters, Commission members Wilbur Beall, Jack Menard, Larry t:ilawlins, James branson, Allen Martin and Marie ~obello,Deputy Clerk. Minutes of May 4 meeting read and subject to one change. ~. Beall stated that round house owned by John T. Harrison was located on Scott Street not Hawthorne Rd. Minutes read and approved as read. G~ENHOUSE- Mr. I~ay Echols 5027 Sorrell Drive recuested a variance to operate a greenhouse business consisting of raising ho~se plants and d~ing most of his business with the commerical greenhouses. Chairman Pete~s asked for anyone opposing the business to voice their opinion. None was heard. Commission Member Beall mentioned that there were three conm~erical business operating on Sorrell Dr. at the present time and could see no objection. Branson ~ssid~ if business should enlarge the commission would take the matter under considerat.~on again. Menard asked about the parking situation, an~ ~ir. Echols stated if business was enlarged he had one acre of land that could be used for that purpose. Beall made a motion the variance on the greenhouse, business of selling house plants at ~. Echols house be recomended for an in- formal term of one year. It was seconded by Commission member Larry Rawlins, voted on by unanimous. TRAILER- Mike Bunce stated that he o~ns ten acres on South Hayfiel~ airport and would like to pu~ a trailer,~lO~b 46'~on y it. The matte~ was discussed by the commission and was decided that ~r. Bunce should apDly for a variance; (public hearing)and then a special meeting be set up at another date, approximately fifteen days after public notice is published. Trailers on Property illegalily- Menard stated that a trailer owned by Don Hammond was parked on Hi~R~£or over a month and stated ~r. Hammond should be cited. Chairman Peters read letter to ~r. Valenty from the ~yor denying him permission to put a trailer on his property, saying he was going against city ordinance No. 5&. FAP~ LIVESTONE O~DINANCE- An ordinance was presented to the Commission by James Branson concerning livestock in the city. it was read by Chairman Del Peters and discussed by the other members with some chan~es made. The members agreed that the most important problem was the sanitation situation, also controlling of dust in the pen areas. There was also a unanimous decision to do away with all ~igs~in the city. It ~as also stated that a minimum standand requirements for chickens, including all fowl be added to the ordiance and that all ~owl be enclosed in pens. Also a change mas adaed to Section 4 stating all stables must be not less than 20 ft. from any human inhibited structure. In Section 6 the length of time was changed from 6 months to one year to permit livestock to be removed from areas not zoned. Also it was decided a chonge in the ordinance to read one or two animals on one half acre rather than a third acre. Menard stated that the ordinance should state General Comme~ical Live= stock heading. The o~dinance will be presented to the city council to be reviewed. The Commission will review all changes made at the next meeting. Meeting adjQurned at 9;20 p.m. Drawing of lots were held after the meeting with following ~s~lts.
