HomeMy WebLinkAbout008 03 72Minutes of the reg ~ula'~meeting of the Planning and Zon~g Commission held in city municipal building August 3, 1972. Meeting detained because of lack of quorum and was called to order by Chairman Del Peters at 8:50 p.m. Present: Chairman Del Peters, Commission members Larry Rawlins, Jack Menard, James Branson and Allen Martin. REQUEST - MOVE HOUSE INTO CHUBBUCK - Mr. & Mrs. Ray Ohlin, 257 Stuart asked the zoning commission if they would be able to move the Anderson home from lO16 Yellowstone Ave. in Pocatello into Chubbuck on Joy Street. Mr. Peters asked Mr. & Mrs. Ohlin to present a plot plan to the city showing where the home will be placed On lot in relation to street and side property lines .and the electrical and plumbing would need to be checked to find out if it met with code requirements. BAR X SUB-DIVISION - Rex Eaton requested approval of a final plat sub-divided into 5 acre lots on the southwest corner of Philbin and Siphon intersection. Discussion followed on lots not being quite 5 acres, being exceptionally long and narrow with no restrictive covenants on sub-division lot owners. James Branson made motion the commission refuse to act on this request until checking further with city attorney. Rawlins seconded with '~ll menbers present voting in favor of motion. Mr. Peters told Mr. Eaton city attorney Wise will check plat and contact his attorney, Dale Kisling. CIRCLE-IN THAIL~ PARK - Charlie and Frasure and John Murray, developers of trailer park presented their preliminary plat for approval. They have State plumbing approval stamped on the plans. Commission member Rawlins made motion the commission accept their preliminary plat for recommendation to city council. Martin seconded with a unanimous ~Ote in favor of motion. UPPER SNAKE RIVER DAIRYM~N'S ASSOC. - Ben Williams, representative of the dairymm's association is interested in developing a milk distributing plant in the Chubbuck Area. He is interested in JoeBrennan,s property on East Chubbuck Rd. Mr. Williams was advised Brennan's property would either require rezoning or a variance be granted to allow this business in present C-1L zone. Several other areas zoned M-1 , which will allow a distributing plant were mentioned to Mr. Williams. FARM LIVESTOCK ORDINANCE - Chairman Peters read proposed changes of council. All zoning commission m~bers were in favor of changes recommended by council and of adopting this ordinance. ZONING AREAS ONE MILE WITHIN CITY LIMITS - Allen Martin moved that all property within one mile of city limits be zoned AT. Rawlins seconded and it carried unanimously. Jack Menard told commission of the need for a new member to replace Wilbur Beall, and asked for any suggestions. Meeting adjourned at 10:00 p.m. Secretary Vera C. Armstrong /~~ Chairman Del Peters
