City Municipal building April 6, 1972.
Meeting called to order 8:00 o'clock p.m. by Chairman Del Peters.
Present: Chairman Del Peters, Co~m~ssion members, Allen Martin, Rodney Parrish,
Wilbur Beall, Larry Rawlins, Jim Branson and Jack Menard.
Minutes of the March 17 meeting read and approved with the following change. Frasure
and Frasure proposes the one access street alongside Lish property be deeded to city
instead of all access roads. With this exception minutes approved as read.
ANNEXATION - Lawrence Stewart and group from Hawthorne Road were present to discuss
annexation of their area. Mr. Stewart requests this annexation be reviewed by
Bannock County planning commission. Chairman Peters informed commission and those
present that Joel Anderson, Pocatello planner and member of Bannock County Develop-
ment Council would be attending the city council meeting March ll to discuss this.
Mr. Stewart stated he would appreciate thorough consideration of annexation.
PUBLIC HE~RING - James Reilly, owner of Hawthorne Veterinary Hospital has asked
variance to allow building new facility to continue his established business in
an R-2 zone. After reviewing plans and some discussion Allen Martin made motion
variance be recommended to city council, Wilbur Beall seconded. Unanimous vote
in favor of motion.
TRAILER REQUEST - A reguest to place trailer on prcperty was made by Robert Olsen.
The property he is interested in is on Buffalo Rd, owned ~ow by Ross Kelly. He
was informed that the area is zoned AT and an acre would be required to place
a home or trailer on. Commission also informed him a public hearing would be
required for a variance to do otherwise.

TRAILER REQUEST - Bill Yowell was present and ~ a letter of request to place
a trailer on a~acre of ground on Hiway Ave~he proposes to buy. Jack Menard suggested
circulating petition for approval of property owners within 300 feet. If property
owners approved he could then request a variance.
TRAILER REPLACED - It was noted a new trailer had replaced an older one on E. Linden.
PROPOSED TRAIT,~R PARK - John Murray and Charlie Frasure presented a preliminary
plat of their proposed trailer par~ for commission recomm~endations. Width of
streets, layout of streets, storage area, playground area and sidewalks discussed.
After a lengthy discussion, Wilbur Beall made motion the commission recommend
acceptance of preliminary plot plan with plan to be in accordance with proposed
Trailer Court Ordinance and subject to approval of Fire Chief and City Engineer.
Also access streets from Yellowstone and Lish St. off Chubbuck Rd. to be built
to city standards and specifications. Allen Martin seconded with unanimous vote
in favor.
PROP(~ED TRAILER ORDINANCE - Jim Branson stated ordinance should stipulate follow-
ing the current National Electric Code. Discussion followed with no action.
