HomeMy WebLinkAbout003 01 73PLANNING AND ZONING MEETING MARCH 1,19~l~ Minutes of the regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning commission held in the city municipal building March 1, 1973. Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman Jim Branson. Present: Chairman Jim Branson, Commission members MLlton Klein, Jack Menard, Del Peters and Larry Rawlins. PRESENTATION OF CERTIFICATE - Mayor Cotant presented Delmar Peters a certifi- cate of appreciation for service as past chairman of the commission. He also expressed thanks and appreciation to all the zoning members for their excellent service and support since the organization of this group. TURNER SUB-DIVISION - Newell Turner presented a preliminary plat of a sub- division to be developed on East Chubbuck Rd, lying adjacent and west of L. E. Bunce property. Menard asked what kind of an agreement he has made with L. E. Bunce to construct the street. Turner stated it was verbal only. James Branson questioned frontage requirements of lots in Residential-2 Zone. Commission informed Mr. Turner his sub-division would require curb-gutter and sidewalks. He also was advised he would probably need some storm sewer dry wells on street. Mr. Branson informed him they would review the plat and make their recommendation to the city council. PUBLIC HEARING - Steve Poppleton was present and requested a variance in zoning to allow the placement of a mobile home on the west side of Burley Street which is zoned R-~L. Mr. Poppleton stated he would put a good trailer on the acre and it would look nice. Commission explained to Mr. Poppleton that the city and zoning commission were trying to control trailers being spread out in residential areas and if they allowed it in one area they would open up the whole city for variance requests. Mrs. Poppleton asked what the difference was in a trailer on a foundation or a regular home. She was told a certain code of building was required and trailer homes do not pass the code. Del Peters suggested holding up on a decision until some of the commission members has looked the property over and been able to make a recommendation to the rest of the commission and the city council. PUBLIC REARING IT~ - Request of the city council to zone ground owned by Francisco Cuoio to R-2 discussed by zoning commission. Peters suggested zoning ?~2~J~ because of the size of this acreage. Rawlins made motion to approve the co.unc~s request and ~a~ ~ommendations back to the city council to zone ~L thms p~ece of ground ~.~ein seconded and the motion carried unanim- ouslly.
