HomeMy WebLinkAbout008 12 75 Adjourned MeetingPLANNING AND ZONING MINUTES August 12, 1975 Minutes of the adjourned meeting of August 7 meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission held in the city municipal building Angust 12, 1975 at 6:O0 p.m. Present: Chairman James Branson, Commission members Allen Martin, Jack Menard and Rodney Parrish CIN~WA THEATRE PLANS - Planning and Zoning Commission .reviewed building plans of an addition to the Cinema Theatre on Pole Line Road. The Planning and~ Zoning commission were real concerned of the parking area being adequate. Zoning ordinance requires one parking space for every five seats. The P & Z commission requests Mr. Morrison furnish drawing showing parking spaces for his theatres and also proposed access approaches from Pole Line Road. FOUR-WAY HOLDING COMPANY INC. - The commission reviewed building plans ~ a proposed building complex which will house five business and will be developed on the corner of Yellowstone and Linden Avenue. After review- ing plans Jack Menard moved commission recommend building permit be issued only when plat provides two driveways off Linden and parking showed on plet plan backing onto Linden be elim~ated. Allen Martin seconded motion with an unanimous vote in favor of motion. DIVERSIFIED INVESTMENT GROUP, INC. - Planning and Zoning commission are meeting this evening to determine a recommendation to council as to the inten~ of the zone of property owned by Diversified Investment Group, Inc. in the 5000 block of Hawthorne Road at the time the zoning ordinance was adopted. Councilman Kinghorn stated he was quite sure the property would be the same zone and not divided and he does feel it was zoned Residential - 2. Councilman Romriell stated he co~uld not believe Rodney and the other Parrishes would not have made some comment in some meeting if their property had been proposed for a'~esidential -2 zone. Councilman R~mriell and Councilman Kinghorn were both serving on the Planning and Zoning Commission at the time the city was originally zoned. Chastain Kent Parrish said James owned half the street to the school and Diversified Investment Group Inc. owned half the street and tha~ an easement is provided the School District. A lenghty discussion followed as to the intent of the zone of Diversified Investment Group Inc. property. The original proposed zoning map was studied. Minutes of meetings held during the time were read. Del Peters moved the property in question and owned by Diversified Investment Investment Group Inc. is zoned Residential - 3 Livestock. Jack Menard seconded motion. Roll call vote: Peters, yes; Menard, yes; Martin, No; Rodney abstained from voting. Parrish ~D-i~ENT PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT _ Kent Parrish presented a development Plan which utilizes the 85 foot of property owned by Land Investment Inc. and lies between Mobile Manor Addition ~l and the proposed Henderson Mobile Home Park. The plan ~ould have off-street parking on the lots on the south of Chickadee to serve the lots that lie within the 85 foot area.
