Ocotber 13, 1981
Minutes of a special Land Use & Development Conmission meeting held in
the City Municipal Building, October 13, 1981.
Present: Chairman Richard Allen, Conmission Members: Pete Anderson, Earl
Romriell, Myrna Cain, Mike Metcalfe and Janet Williams, City Engineer
Steven Smart, Secretary Dorothy Ward. Robert Allen and Dee Stalder
were excused.
Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Allen.
Chairman Allen explained to the Commission Members the special meeting was
called to review the Design Review for Eddie McArthur's Machine Shop
addition he wishes to build.
Mr. McArthur was present and said he wished to build an addition to his
present Machine Shop, at 342 Highway Avenue. He said he is located in
an Industrial Zone.
Janet Williams asked~lr. McArthur if he planned onpaving the parking area
in front of his business. He said that he would like to build another
addition to his business and then pave the sides and front.
Janet Williams asked him what the time element would be on this, and he
replied he didn't know, that he would like to trade work with Bannock
Paving.
Mike Metcalfe reminded Mr. McArthur that it is a requirement b~ ordinance to
have the parking area paved; that the city would need a time element. He
said he was concerned with the rights of people that live close to the
machine shop. It was determined that the area close to the machine shop
was either Agriculture or Industrial.
The Commission discussed landscaping. Chairman Allen said landscaping was
not required in an Industrial Zone.
Earl Romriell cc~nented that Mr. McArthur kept his business area clean and
neat.
Mike Metcalfe made a motion to recon~nend the City Council approve the Design
Review of Eddie McArthur, to build on to his machine shop, at 342 Hiway
Avenue; that off street parking be waived for one (1) year, and that he
build to all city standards and requirements as to code. Janet Williams
seconded the motion. Romriell, yes; Allen, yes; Cain, yes; Williams, yes;
Metcalfe, yes; Anderson, abstained frc~nvoting.
Earl Romriellmade motion to adjourn at 7:20.~m.,J~et Williams seconded the
motion with all Commission Members votin~ in~
