August 6, 1981
Minutes of the regular meeting of the Land Use & Development Commission
held in the City Municipal Building, August 6, 1981.
Present: Chairman Richard Allen, Cc~ission M~mbers: Dee Stalder, Pete
Anderson, Myrna Cain, Janet Williams, City Engineer Steven Smart and
Secretary Dorothy Ward.
Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. by Chairman Allen.
Chairman Allen asked for any corrections or additions to the minutes of July
9, 1981; there being none, Dee Staldermade motion to accept minutes
of July 9, 1981, as written. Janet Williams seconded the motion, with
all ~-Cc~mission~rs voting in favor.
Other Business.
1. DESIGN REVIEW - IDAHO BANK & TRUST CC~4PANY, SIGN, 4730 Yellowstone.
Chairman Allen showed pictures of sign in question, he then asked for any
cc~ent frcm the floor or the Commission. There being none, Pete Anderson
made motion to recc~mend to the City Council, for approval, the sign at
Idaho Bank & Trust Cc~pany, 4730 Yellowstone. Dee Stalder seconded the
motion, with all Co~nission ~_mbers voting in favor.
2. DESIGN REVIEW - S~.RY OUTDOOR ADVER~ISING SIGN,Poleline & Quinn.
Chain~anAllen showed pictures of sign, he then asked for any cc~ment
frc~ the floor or Cc~ission. There being none, Janet Williams made
motion to recc~mend to the City Council, for approval, the sign at
Poleline & Quinn, owned by Shelby Outdoor Advertising. Myrna Cain
seconded the motion, with the Cc~ission ~_mbers voting in favor.
3. DESIGN REVIEW - HIGHLANDER LAUNDRY CENTER, SIGN, 5039 Yellowstone.
Chairman Allen showed pictures of sign, he then asked for any cc~ment
frc~ the floor or Commission. There being none, Dee Staldermade motion
to recc~m~d to the City Council, for approval, the sign at the
Highlander LaundryCenter. Pete Anderson seconded the motion with all
Voting in favor.
4. DESIGN REVIEW- IOLA'S SALON, SIGN, 5012 Yellowstone. Chairman
Allen showed pictures of sign, he then asked for any conm~nt from the
floor, Iola Hathaway was present and said the sign hadbeen installed
with the issuance of a building permit frc~nthe City. Therebeing no
cc~m~nt frc~ the Commission, Janet Williams made motion to reconm~nd
to the City Council, for approval, the sign at Iola's Salon. Pete
Anderson seconded the motion, with all CommissionMembers voting in
favor.

5. DESIGN REVIEW - A-1 TV SERVICE, SIGN, 5003 Yellowstone. Chairman
Allen showed pictures of sign, he then asked for any con~ent frcm the
floor or the Commission. Members discussed the permanent sign and the
t~rary sign. Pete Anderson made motion to recc~me_nd to the City
Council, for their approval, the permanent sign of A-1 TV Service,
5003 Yellowstone. Janet Williams seconded the motion with all Commission
Members voting in favor.
6. DESIGN REVIEW - GREGORY ROMRIRT.L - PROFESSIONAL DENTAL GROUP, SIGN,
4544 Yellowstone. Chairman Allen showed pictures of sign, he than asked
for any conraent from the floor or the Commission. The Conxnission
discussed the relationship to the sign and the sidewalk and the future
widening of Yellowstone Highway. Dee Stalder made motion to reconmend
to the City Council, for their approval, the sign of Gregory Rc~riell,
Professional Dental Group. Myran Cain seconded the motion, with all
Coranssion Members voting in favor.
7. DESIGN REVIEW - HIGHLAND MOTORs SIGN, FRED MARTIN, 5803 Yellowstone.
Chairman Allen showed drawing of the sign already installed. He then
asked for any cc~ment from the floor or the Conznission, there being none,
Myrna Cain made motion to recc~ne~d to the City Council, for their approval,
the sign of Fred Martin, owner of Highland Motors, 5803 Yellowstone. Dee
Stalder seconded the motion, with all voting in favor.
8. DESIGN REVTES~ - RAX ROAST B~, PINE RIDGE M~T.T., SIGN. Chairman
Allen showed drawings of the signs that were to be installed on business
and the pylon sign. He then asked for any cc~znent from the floor. The
ConnlisSion discussed the signs and their locations. Janet Williams
made motion to reconm~nd to the City Council, for their approval, the
signs of Rax RDast Beef, Pine Ridge Mall. Pete Anderson seconded the
motion, with all Commission Members voting in favor.

Janet Williams made motion to adjourn at 9:20 p. m. with Dee Stalder
seconding the motion. All C~u,~ssion Members voted in favor.
