HomeMy WebLinkAbout004 03 97 CITY OF CHUBBUCK LAND USE AND DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION April 3, 1997 Minutes of the regular meeting of the Land Use and Development Commission held in the City Municipal Building April 3, 1997. Present: Chairman Kent Keams, Commission Members: Ray Rose, Myma Cain, Mary Harker, Gayle Anderson, Pete Anderson; Attorney Tom Holmes; City Staff: Larry Kohntopp, Steve Smart; Secretary Myrna Crapo. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Kent Keams at 8:00 PM. Chairman Kent Keams asked for approval of the minutes of the March 6, 1997 meeting. Mary Harker moved to approve the minutes as corrected, Gayle Anderson seconded with all voting in favor. Chairman Kearns asked if any member had a conflict of interest with the item. There was none. PUBLIC HEARING: 1. An application by Con Jensen, 8294 W. Buckskin, for review of a preliminary plat for Burley Bonanza Commercial Tract. Property is presently zoned Industrial (I). A subdivision located at 4604 Burley Drive. Chairman Keams asked for any update to the city staff report, there was none. Con Jensen, 8294 W. Buckskin, he is willing to comply with the cities requirements. Chairman Keams opened the meeting up to public testimony is opposition, there was one. It was then opened to public testimony in support of the application. There was none. Public testimony was closed and opened to the commission for discussion. Pete move to recommend to the city council that they accept the preliminary plat for Burley Bonanza Commercial Tact. Mary Harker seconded. Myrna Cain, yes; Ray Rosen, yes; Pete Anderson, yes; Kent Kearns, yes; Mary Harker, yes and Gayle Anderson, yes. GENERAL BUSINESS: 1. A request by Kevin Kugler, 4801 Whitaker for a geographic area for multiple dwellings to be defined for the area at 4801 Whitaker. Chubbuck Code 18.08.010(d). Land Use and Development Commission April 3, 1997 Page 2 The commission discussed: 1. Using the subdivision to designate the area 2. The basement being considered for an apartment 3. Having a small daycare in the home 4. The comprehensive plan designation 5. Having Mr. Kugler come in for a zone change. 6. Having a public hearing and inviting people in 7. City staff to let Mr. Kugler 'know that they need to request a zone change. Pete Anderson moved that we deny the request for a geographic area for multiple dwellings and advise Mr. Kugler that he should apply for a zone changes. Ray Rosen seconded. All voted in favor. The commission talked about a study session prior to the next meeting. A study session was set up for April 24th at 8:00 PM. Mary Harker moved to adjourn.
