Minutes of a special meeting held in the city municipal building,
February 12, 1991.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Leroy S. Quick,
Steven M. England, David A. Landon, Public Works Director
Steven M. Smart, and City Clerk Ron C. Con]in. Councilman W.
Dean Wood and Attorney Thomas J. Holmes was excused.
Meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF MEETING shall be to discuss increase in water and
sanitation rates to support 1990-91 Fiscal Year Budget.
Councilman England said he received comments that fifteen
years ago, some residents put in a pressure irrigation system,
the city was glad they did because it saved the city a lot in
capital improvements. Now the city is considering penalizing
those same residents because they stay at the minimum water
rate.
Mayor Cotant and Council reviewed several residence and
business comparisons with proposed rate, as compared to
current rate, ~
PWD Smart stated, costs are going up, (inflation, regulations,
etc.). Because of lack of funds, we have not been able to do
necessary capital improvements the past two years. Most of the
water system is 20 years now.
Considerable discussion about proposed water rates.
Council was in agreement, the increase should be equitable
throughout the City.
At 7:29 p.m., Councilman England moved, Councilman Quick seconded,
with full council approval to adjourn meeting.

CALL OF SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF CHUBBUCK
Pursuant to Idaho Code Section 50-604, the undersigned Mayor
of the City o¢ Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of
the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck Municipal Building,
5160 Yellowstone Avenue, at the hour of 6:00 p.m., on the 12th. day
of February 12, 1991. The object o¢ the special meeting is to
discuss increasing water and sanitation rates to support 1990-91
Fiscal Year Budget.
