COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES
September 15, 1992
Minutes of a special meetlng held at the city municipal building,
September 15, 1992.
Present: Mayor John O. Cotant, Council members Steven M. England,
David A. Landor, W. Dean Wood, PWD Steven M. Smart and City
Clerk Ron C. Conlln. Councilman Leroy S. Quick and Attorney
Thomas J. Holmes was excused.
Meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m. by Mayor Cotant.
PURPOSE OF MEETING is to discuss a proposal to acquire an interest
in real property.
LAND
PURCHASE PROPOSAL - GEORGE SHIOZAWA - George Shiozawa, 5328
Yellowstone Ave. proposed an amount of $150,000.00 for the
City purchase of approx. 17 acres of land south of
property at 5328 Yellowstone Ave. Mr. Shiozawa is asking
$15,000.00 per acre for the 2 acres fronting Yellowstone Ave.
$8,000.00 per acre for the remaining acreage.
Councilman Wood suggested we use a Right of Refusal option.
Discussion about how the One Percent Intitative wil~~ affect
the budget, if passed.
Discussion about how much the land is worth.
Councilman England moved to direct Mayor Cotant to 1)
Negotiate something reasonable with Mr. Shiozawa, somewhere
within the $140,000.00 or $150,000.00 range. 2] Attorney
Holmes will prepare a Right of Refusal Agreement for the
property. Councilman Landor seconded. All council members
present voted in favor of motion.
At 6:10 p.m.,

of the City of Chubbuck, Idaho, hereby calls a special meeting of
the City Council to be held at the Chubbuck Municipal Building, at
